    • Created in 1948 as Wum Native Authority, covering the Kom, Fungom, Furu-Awah, Beba-Befang, and Esimbi areas.<\/li>
    • In 1964, renamed Wum Area Council with Kom area carved out to form the Kom-Bum Area Council.<\/li>
    • Became Wum Rural Council in 1974, and then divided into four councils in 1993.<\/li>
    • By Decree No. 2004\/18 (July 22, 2004), it became Wum Council.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>
      • Geographic Information<\/strong>: Wum municipality spans an area of 776.67 km\u00b2, with a population of 51,000 (1987 census). It is located about 83 km from Bamenda.<\/li>
