Wum Councillors validate Mayor Dighambong Anthony\u2019s mid-year report, empower Village Development Committees.<\/div>
Councillors of the Wum Council have given a resounding approval to the 2025 mid-year evaluation report presented by Mayor Dighambong Anthony Mvo.<\/div>
According to the report, over 68.02 per cent of projects earmarked for this year had already been realized by July. A performance described by councillors as evidence of our collective commitment to building Wum better that we met it.<\/div>
\u201cWe are here today to assess and further commit ourselves in realizing the projects that were in our 2025 budget baptized \u201cthe Budget of Hope and Greater Citizen Participation\u201d. The challenges are enormous ranging from bad roads to frequent lockdowns impairing the transportation of building materials to Wum. We are grateful to those contractors whose works are at 100% while we caution and warn those who are still trailing and putting our percentage realization low.\u201d<\/div>
The Wum Council has presented a list of some of the projects that the council was able to execute in 2025. This was during the council’s mid-term session that held on Thursday October 2nd, 2025 at the Wum town hall, Wum sub division, North West Region of Cameroon. The session was also aimed at reviewing the council’s financial and project performance for the year 2025.<\/div>
During the session, Mayor Dighambong Anthony listed a good number of Public Investment Projects the council executed which included<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of a block of two classrooms at GS Ngoh in Wanagwen village Wum Municipality. 100%<\/div>
\u2022 Construction of a block of two classrooms at GS Tsalakeghie in Ghiedze village Wum Municipality. 90%<\/div>
\u2022 Construction of a block of two classrooms at GS Mubuuh in Kesu village Wum Municipality. 90%<\/div>
\u2022 Supply of 120 benches, 04 tables and 04 chairs to GS Tsalakeghie and GS Mubuuh in Wum Municipality. 90%<\/div>
\u2022 Construction of 27 VIP market sheds at Court Yard in Wum Municipality. 45%<\/div>
\u2022 Installation of 12 all in one solar street lights from GTHS Junction towards Kecha Wum. 100%<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of the Bu Medicalized health center in Wum Municipality. 100%<\/div>
\u2022 Supply of Medical Equipment to the Ukpwa Integrated Health Center (IHC) in Wum Municipality. 0%<\/div>
\u2022 Supply of Medical Equipment to the Wum Urban Integrated Health Center (IHC) in Wum Municipality. 100%<\/div>
\u2022 Supply of Equipment to the vulnerable of Wum municipality. 100%<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of Road from Wum Urban IHC. – Kesu Round About, Naikom Junction – Nghotebuh, Magha Junction – Magha Palace And from Zonghokwo Junction – Zonghokwo Palace (2.00km) in Wum Municipality. 25%<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of the Road from Naikom Junction to Lake Wum passing through SDO\u2019s Residence (3.60km) in Wum Municipality. 15%<\/div>
\u2022 Construction of a Box Culvert at the Street opposite Zekebweliwie to Njang Quarter (Naikom Village) in Wum Municipality. 90%<\/div>
\u2022 Construction of a Box Culvert Linking Zonghofu and Waindo Villages in Wum Municipality. 90%<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of the Road from GTHS Junction to the Municipal Stadium behind GTHS Wum in Wum Municipality. 15%<\/div>
\u2022 Rehabilitation of the Road from Zonghokwo Junction to Kelang Junction (2.70km) in Wum Municipality. 15%<\/div><\/div>
The session underscored the council’s commitment to transparency and accountability, as well as its dedication to fostering development in Wum. As the year progresses, the council aims to ensure that all financial records are accurate and that projects continue to meet the needs of the community.<\/div><\/div>
The Chairperson of works and Infrastructure Committee showcased the various projects executed by the council throughout 2025.
