Mayor Dighambong Anthony Mvo of Wum Council, accompanied by the council’s technical staff, recently undertook a comprehensive tour of various ongoing projects within the municipality, demonstrating a proactive approach to local development. Their itinerary commenced at GS Yotoh, where a significant community benefit was unveiled: a solar-powered borehole, complete with three extended stand taps, designed to serve both the school and the surrounding population. Here, Mayor Mvo underscored the importance of responsible stewardship, cautioning inhabitants to ensure judicious use and vigilant protection of this vital water infrastructure, especially in anticipation of the looming dry season.
I would like to take this opportunity to caution you on the judicious usage of our new solar-powered borehole project. This project is a gift to our community, and it’s essential that we use it wisely to ensure its sustainability.
Let’s work together to maintain the facility, conserve water, and prevent any form of abuse or vandalism. By doing so, we can enjoy the benefits of this project for years to come.
Together, let’s make the most of this wonderful project and build a brighter future for Yotoh.

The team then proceeded to Waindo, where the Mayor conducted a detailed inspection of the low-cost housing construction site, commending the progress achieved while also providing precise corrections deemed necessary to elevate the project’s quality and functionality.

At Zongefu and Naikom Overside, Mayor Mvo expressed satisfaction with the recently constructed box culverts, recognizing their crucial role in enhancing connectivity. He promptly urged his technical team to ensure diligent follow-up with the contractor for immediate backfilling, a necessary step to facilitate the efficient transport of farm produce by the local community.

Despite the persistent challenges posed by a poor road network, this “marathon visit” underscored the council’s unwavering commitment to overseeing and delivering essential infrastructure projects across the municipality.
